Your Water Bills: Easy ways to plug the drain on your wallet

Are your water bills always higher than expected each month and you’re not sure how to stop the price from rising? Wasting water is easier than it seems and it’s often hard to remember what little steps you can take to make a difference. Sometimes all it takes is picking up a new habit and adding it to your daily routine. Barker and Sons wants to help plug the drain on your wallet and thanks to Frugal Living we have some simple ways to do so:

Switch to a Low-Flow Shower Head: Older models use about twice as much gallons per minute. According to the US Department of Energy, making the switch can save you anywhere from 25-60%.

Take Shorter Showers: Take a 5 minute shower instead of 15. It’s going to save you as much water as it does time.

Shower Instead of Taking Baths: Filling the bathtub all the way up uses more water than a quick shower with a low-flow shower head would.

Repair Faucet Leaks: A leaky faucet can waste 1000-2000 gallons of water a year, according to the National Sanitation Foundation. And since Fix a Leak Week is coming up, this is a great place to start!

Install a Faucet Aerator: Without reducing water pressure you can reduce water flow! It screws right on to your faucet easily.

Replace Your Toilet Flapper Once a Year: The few dollars spent to replace it will save you a good amount of money overall.

And that’s just a few! Make sure to read more here.
