Have you been meaning to make improvements to your home but have yet to get started? If you answered “yes,” then we’re here to encourage you to use the summer months to your advantage and make some changes! Here are a few projects, courtesy of Angie’s List, that we recommend tackling now:
Updating your roof: As the part of your home that is responsible for protecting you and your family from the outside elements, it’s only right to take extra good care of your roof! That being said, you should make it a priority to inspect it at least every six months to ensure that it is stable and functioning as planned. However, if your roof is nearing the end of its lifespan and you notice discoloration, curling shingles or loose shingles, now may be a good time to think about repair or replacement.
Fixing the cement: How long have you been looking at a driveway, walkway or sidewalk that is full of cracks? Are weeds starting to poke through? Should your cement work be starting to age, summer is the perfect time to smooth things out!
Sealing cracks and holes: If you feel like your air conditioner isn’t keeping your home cool, it may not be the machine’s fault! Rather, you could have several cracks around your windows or doors that are allowing the air to escape. To keep the cool air in this summer, take some time to seal up the space around these components of your home.
Last but not least, we know what a growing trend it is to update your kitchen and bathroom, but with that possibly comes the need for plumbing tips! Especially if you’re planning to re-work fixtures such as sinks, toilets and tubs, you must keep in mind that moving such requires some plumbing work.
