Christmas is just a little over one week away! Can you believe how fast the year went? Since we still have some time left before the presents need to be under the tree, we wanted to offer a few activities that families can enjoy for this particular holiday just like we did near the start of Hanukkah. Take a look at what we’ve come up with below.
Build a gingerbread house: Not only do you get to enjoy the act of actually putting the house together, but you get to enjoy eating it too when you’re ready to bite into it! And it doesn’t matter if you stick with a traditional design or come up with your own – all that matters is that you get to spend time with the family doing it!
Have a Christmas sing along: From Jingle Bells to Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, we bet you could spend hours signing all of your favorite Christmas carols! The best part? Once you’ve perfected them with the family, you can take your performance outdoors and sing for others too! As they say in the movie Elf, “the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.”
Make an ornament: Do you prefer to have your tree completely filled with ornaments each year? If so, add another one to the mix, but this time, have it be homemade! For this particular activity, you can create something from scratch or head down to your local craft store and pick up an ornament kit!
Secret Santa: It is the season of giving, after all! This activity is particularly great for those who want to get their extended family into the mix – the more people involved, the merrier! Just put everyone’s name into a hat and then pick one out without the others knowing who you got.
Bake Christmas cookies: Cookies are a widely popular dessert this time of year, so get to the kitchen and start baking! You can use a traditional family recipe or a new one you’d like to try out – which option will you choose?
