Who’s Behind Barker & Sons?
Barker & Sons is family-owned and operated, and it has been from the start. Mike finished plumbing trade school in Los Angeles, started the company, and built it alongside Brenda while they raised five sons.
These days the family has plenty of help. Our plumbers and office team are the people customers thank by name in their reviews, and the ones they ask for the next time something goes wrong. And when a job is too big for one plumber, a full crew shows up, so your home isn’t torn up any longer than it has to be.

Mike came out of trade school wanting to run the kind of shop he’d want to call himself: one that does the work right and treats people right. Brenda wanted a place people were proud to work, and homeowners could count on. Four decades later, we still hire by one rule:

What Happens When You Call Barker & Sons

Training the Next Generation of Orange County Plumbers
Mike and Brenda have always given back close to home. They’ve coached local basketball teams and stayed active in Rotary and the Chamber of Commerce, and when they saw the county had no local PHCC trade school for plumbers, they started one. Their four-year apprenticeship program now trains about 150 students a year.
Every year, they sponsor tuition for students in honor of their late son.
The learning doesn’t stop at graduation, either. Our whole team keeps at it with weekly meetings, ongoing classes, and trade school, under the words on our training-room wall:
