Why Does My Toilet Gurgle?

There is plenty of ruckus that occurs in our home which we often do not know how to handle. To help check one uncertainty off your list, we’re giving you one good reason your toilet might be gurgling.

The answer is your vent pipes. Separate from the piping that drains toilet water into your sewer, there are also vent pipes in your home heading upward that allow potential sewer gas to escape.

The gurgling noise you’re hearing is likely coming from a blockage. When the vent gets blocked air is forced back into your plumbing system and out another opening – your toilet.

Makes more sense then you were expecting, huh? Unfortunately, it’s not all that simple. You will want to tend to these backed up vent pipes before something worse appears. A water jet or other professional plumbing services will likely do the trick.
